We thank you for your continued prayers regarding the task in front of us. The Pastor Search Team has been busy interviewing, praying, conducting second interviews, watching online sermons and more praying etc. The elders and staff have been praying and interviewing as well.
We understand this process seems to be taking some time and we are thankful for your patience.

Pastor Search Team Update - March 2014
The CrossCurrent Pastor Search Team is currently deep in the interview stage to identify our new Senior Pastor, and we wanted to give you an update, let you know what to expect next, and ask for your continued prayers.
The Pastor Search Team most recently tasked the Elders with interviewing four candidates. These interviews allowed our Elders to get to know the candidates, their wives, and to discuss theology, leadership, and calling. As a result of these interviews, the Elders have recommended and the Pastor Search Team has agreed to narrow the candidate pool from four to three candidates.
So what happens next? How do we get from three to one?
The Pastor Search Team is prayerfully considering each candidate in context of the Elder feedback, performing some tasks which will lay the foundation for an eventual job offer and transition.
Once we have narrowed the candidate pool once more and we will present the remaining candidates to the CrossCurrent Admin Board, staff and ministry leaders. As we begin to introduce the remaining candidates we will get to know them and their family, and they will get to know CrossCurrent and our community. The input and perspective of these key leaders will be considered before an offer is extended by the Admin Board.
If the Admin Board votes to move forward with the candidate we will invite him and his family to CrossCurrent for a Candidate Weekend where he will meet more members of our church family and teach on Sunday morning. A member vote will follow.
What can you do now?
We appreciate your continued prayers that God would reveal to us, His will for the pastor of our faith community. Please continue to pray for the Pastor Search Team, Elders, Admin Board, Staff, and the candidates and their families.

Pastor Search Team Update - February 2014
Since the last update, so much has been going on. The Pastor Search Team (PST) has conducted introductory interviews with our narrowed pool of 9 candidates. From there we felt that there were four candidates that should move on to the next round of interviews. The Elders will now have a conversation with the remaining four candidates to discuss spiritual alignment and CrossCurrent’s unique DNA. We are expectant to see what God reveals to us during this next portion of the process.
What is the next portion of the process? Glad you asked. The PST will review what the Elders come back with from their conversations. From there, with much prayer, fasting and discussion; we hope to narrow the field even further, or determine if we need to continue interviewing other candidates which continue to apply. Once we have narrowed the field to one candidate, we will present that candidate to the Board of Administration and the Elders. If both of those bodies agree, the candidate will come to CrossCurrent to be presented to you during a candidate weekend. That weekend will be a full weekend for you to get to meet the candidate and their family, and for them to get to meet our congregation. Then we will hold a written secret ballot vote. The final decision lies with the members of CrossCurrent. Look for more details as we approach these events, for now we are asking you to join us in prayer for these next steps.
We have been encouraged by the number of people who have been praying for this process. At this point in the process, we are asking the church body of Cross Current to engage in a more purposeful season of prayer and fasting. These next phases are critical as we trust the Lord to lead us to the person (and family) he has already designed to fill such a critical role in our community.
There are several ways for you to connect with us in prayer and fasting:
- Every Sunday from 9:45 to 10:00 am, join us for a time of corporate prayer in the auditorium before the church service.
- We are asking every person that calls CrossCurrent home to sign up for a day of prayer and fasting during this season. (Sign-up at the table in the foyer.)
- The PST will be hosting prayer nights at key points during this process until the new pastor joins our family. Please keep a look out for upcoming dates.
We know that this is a long process but we are so humbled by what God has done so far and excited by what He will do next.

Pastor Search Team Update - January 2014
This month our Pastor Search Team has been very busy, and we want to give you an update and snapshot of the process.
Over 80 applicants from around the world have submitted resumes, testimonies, letters of interest, and sermon samples. Earlier this month the Prayer Team hosted a dedicated time of prayer for the Pastor Search Team, our church, and the individuals who have applied to be our Senior Pastor.
Our Pastor Search Team has reviewed each applicant and narrowed the candidate pool to 10 candidates (with more applications still coming in and being reviewed). Our team is currently conducting phone and Skype interviews with these applicants. With each interview we are prayerfully seeking God's guidance to identify that person (and family) who will be a good fit for CrossCurrent and who God has called to our community of faith.
As we continue to narrow this list, and consider the individuals we bring into the next level of in-person interviews we ask for your continued prayer, prayer for our team, our church, and the applicants and their families. We also ask for your continued prayer for the entire CrossCurrent Leadership team (Elders, Board, and Staff).

Pastor Search Team Update - December 2013
The CrossCurrent Pastor Search Team is excited to share that we have already received over 50 applications! Currently we are prayerfully reviewing these resume packages, listening to sermons and praying for God's guidance.
On January 11th the Pastor Search Team will gather to determine which applicants will move to the pre-screening phase.
We appreciate your family’s continued prayers that God would reveal to us, His will for the pastor of our faith community.

PASTOR SEARCH team UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2013
The Pastor Search Team has been hard at work. First, we would like to thank each of you for the diligent prayer and support. God has been faithful to creating a unified team with a shared vision to serve CrossCurrent Ministries. We ask that you continue to pray for discernment and strength in the search for our Senior Pastor.
Since the October Core Community, the Pastor Search Team has been moving forward with the search for our new Senior Pastor. The team has defined the key functions and role that CrossCurrent needs in our new Senior Pastor with an updated job description. The job posting is now open and on-line! We recognize that you may know of individuals in your network of relationships who may be a qualified candidate for the CrossCurrent Senior Pastor. Please direct interested candidates to the posting here.
