CrossCurrent Ministries, in Ashburn, Virginia, targets people of any age with a post-modern mindset; single and married, in college and out of college, with jobs or without jobs, with kids or without kids. We're not so much about an age as an attitude. We intentionally design our ministry to speak and demonstrate the truths of Jesus Christ to unchurched and unconvinced people. Our purpose is to build relationships with God and people, growing together to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

CrossCurrent has seven staff members and dozens of volunteer leaders. We are all here to serve you and help you grow in your relationship with God. We encourage you to be in touch with us at any time. Our new offices are located over in Countryside Sterling and someone is here Monday through Friday, 9:00 - 5:00. The new Crosscurrent office phone number is 703.433.5414 Chris Eads is the CrossCurrent Pastor. He can be reached at [email protected]. Kevin Hancock is our Executive Pastor. You can reach Kevin at [email protected]. Kevin's assistant, Christina Hancock, can be reached at [email protected]. Jan Israel is Chris Eads' assistant. She can be reached at [email protected]. We don't have a dress code. Most people dress casually and comfortably; any style is welcome. Youll get a hello at the door, be asked if you are new if our Connection team doesn't recognize you as a regular, and get an offer for help. Inside your bulletin, you'll find a "Communicator" card that we'll invite you to fill out if you'd like to find out more about CrossCurrent and how to get connected. Don't stress, if you just want to check us out without any commitment and without being singled out, that's cool. We have an alternative type band instead of a choir. When the music starts, stand up - sit down, whatever feels right. Lights will be low so you can just observe in anonymity if you want, or join in the experience of worship if you are moved to. Remember the old offering plate? Well we don't have them. Giving is only for the regulars who call CrossCurrent and Christian Fellowship home and there are boxes by the doors for that. This is a safe place to come with your questions if you don't have a relationship with Christ, or aren't quite sure you even want one. Just come with your curiosity and inquiries. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ isn't an "arrival"; its a journey. There are people here who can help you with the road map, if you are interested in the destination. One of the best way to get plugged in, investigate Christianity in a safe place, or grow in your walk with God, is by joining one of the many mid-week small groups. There are cards in the lobby that describe each of these. If you have questions about any of these, there are always people around the tables to help you.

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)

So, you may be asking, "What is CrossCurrent all about?" Well, other than striving to follow the commandments of God, especially the two listed above, we have established a set of six core values that are priorities for our group in our walk.

1. Ministry should be prayer-centered, God-breathed, and we should expect God to transform the lives of people who are a part of CrossCurrent, to make full devotion to Christ just plain normal.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. Acts 2:42-43
2. People are looking for authentic relationships, therefore everything we do should place accepting relationships first, regardless of a person's behavior, beliefs, or skills.
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Acts 2:46-47
3. Lost people matter to God, and therefore ought to matter to us. Our ministry should have as its highest mission to intentionally seek out non-believing people to communicate God's love to them.
I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 5:10
4. Excellence in everything we do should be a priority, for excellence honors God and is an act of worship.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24
5. Life change will occur best in small groups, therefore every believer should be part of a small group.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
6. People are looking for a place of significance and service; therefore, every person should be given the opportunity to use their gifts and talents, even if their skill is not superb.
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

CrossCurrent Ministries is aimed at providing a culturally relevant presentation of biblical truth to people who do not believe. Our goal is to help people understand the truths of the Bible, and to experience an authentic and biblical expression of Christianity, while honoring their process of decision making, and allowing them the space and time to sort through what they believe and why.
