Read James 1:5-8 for next week, and answer the following questions:
- What is wisdom?

- Why would we want wisdom? What benefits does it give us? (hint: check out Proverbs 2:10-15)
- What is the condition for receiving wisdom? What must we do to receive it?
- How does God describe someone that doubts?
- What should we expect from God if we doubt? Why do you think that is?
- What areas of your life do you want (or need) God's wisdom?
- How does this relate to the last section on trials and perseverance?

Reflect on James 1:2-4 with these questions:
- What places in my life is my faith tested?
- How can I persevere through the trial(s)?
- What ways has God given me to persevere, and to prepare for persevering further trials?
- Meditate on the goal: the trial will make you mature and complete.
- Pray to God parts of James 1:2-4
- I KNOW that the testing of my faith develops perseverance.
- Perseverance MUST finish its work so that I may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Put James 1:2-4 into action:
When trials (big or small) come up this week:
- Pray to God as soon as you realize you're going through a trial.
- Tell Him you KNOW you have this trial so you develop perseverance.
- Tell Him you KNOW that this will let you grow and become more dependent on Him.
- Thank Him for the trial, because it will make you a stronger Christian, and will bring you closer to Him.
- Ask for His help in continuing to persevere, and His help in solving the trial.
