There is power in sharing our personal stories/faith journeys/testimonies with one another. On one hand, it can foster a deeper & more intimate relationship with the storyteller as we enter into their experiences, get to know them & grow to love them.
On the other hand, each of our journeys are a part of a much more grand story – God’s own story. Therefore, we can actually encounter Him, & learn about Him, through His activity in the lives of others. Journey is a way to foster an environment where we can experience the power of these personal stories of faith.
Journey is a way we can experience authentic community and celebrate Christ.
it's a group of up to eight people who. . .
1 Spend time together over the course of several weeks and build real relationships,
2 Each share a short version (~ 20 min.) of their faith journey during that time period,
3 Take time to reflect on and discuss the stories that are shared in an intentional way.
Everyone in your group will receive a Journey Guide to help you make the most of your time together. You can also download a printable copy here
We form new groups several times throughout the year, generally in the Fall, late Winter/early Spring, and Summer. Our next groups will begin on March 22nd, 2015. You can go about joining a Journey group in two ways:
1. Sign up for a specific group before March 22nd in our church lobby, or online. Space is limited in each group, so make sure you don't wait!
2. If you already have a group of people you know you’d like to do Journey with, then you can do that too! All you need to do is decide who from your group will host, and let Cross Current's Community Life Pastor, Tim Coressel, know so he can help you get off on the right track. You can contact him at [email protected]
This is the place to start your journey group. By attending the Journey Lunch (lunch provided!) after church service, you’ll get the chance to connect with the group you've signed up for, and hear a little more about what to expect. Our next Journey Lunch will be on Sunday, March 22nd in the Trailside Middle School Cafeteria after church. Please plan on attending if you've signed up for a group.
